Why did you become a healthcare provider?

My name is Erin Kloster and I am a Board Certified, Psychiatric and Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. I have also received an advanced perinatal mental health certification from Post Partum Support International. Perinatal mood and anxiety disorders (PMADs) encompass a range of mental health conditions that can occur during pregnancy or within the first year after childbirth. Prior to becoming a PMHNP-BC, PMH-C, I spent 15 years as a Labor and Delivery Nurse, spending my career both ushering in new life and guiding families through some of the hardest times in their lives. These experiences affording me the ability to bond with families both in joyous and sorrowful times. I also became witness to the struggles of finding mental health providers who understand birth trauma, work place violence and trauma. I want to improve access to mental health services in and around my community. It is with that same care, compassion and empathy that I commit to guiding you through your mental health journey.

What do you enjoy or find most fulfilling about caring for patients?

Life is so often overwhelming. I am committed to working with clients to manage the up’s and down’s of life. I approach my work with a compassionate, non-judgmental, and trauma-informed lens. I believe you deserve a provider that takes the time to listen, understand, and collaborate with you to develop a plan that fits your unique journey.
