Who we are
It started with a few neighbors who saw a need.
In 1979, community members in El Mirage and Surprise saw that local farmworkers had nowhere to turn for medical care. They came together, won federal funding, and in 1980 opened Clínica Adelante. Its staff drove out to the farms and offered a safe place to be seen by a doctor.
Today we are Adelante Healthcare, a nonprofit, federally qualified community health center with nine locations from Wickenburg to Gila Bend and Mesa to Buckeye. The mission hasn’t changed: cultivate health by supporting individuals and the community at every step of their journey.
We care for the whole person, body and mind — family and adult medicine, pediatrics, women’s health, dental, behavioral health, pharmacy, lab services, and WIC nutrition support. And we see everyone, regardless of background, status, or ability to pay.

Why it matters
Care that meets people where they are.
For many of our patients, Adelante is the only place they can get care. Some are working two jobs and can’t take a day off. Some are new to the country, uninsured, or caring for children and aging parents at the same time.
We meet them with providers who speak their language, telehealth visits, and a team that treats the whole person. When someone can see a counselor in the same building as their doctor, they are more likely to stay well. That is what your support builds.
