Why did you become a healthcare provider?

I chose to become a practitioner because I saw the need in our communities for Bilingual providers. As an emergency room nurse for many years, I saw the need and the struggle that patients can face when there is a language barrier. Plus, I love being a nurse and helping people.

What attracted you to a community health center for your practice?

Growing up, our healthcare needs were provided by a community health center. I remember feeling so welcomed by the staff and the providers. I want to make my patients feel the same, welcomed and cared for.

What do you enjoy or find most fulfilling about caring for patients?

I enjoy educating patients regarding their medical conditions. The ability to communicate in Spanish is very fulfilling to me as I know how difficult it is to communicate and comprehend due to a language barrier.

Do you have any children? If so, what are their ages?

I have 3 children, and a dog. My boys are 34 and 27 years old. My daughter is 18. My FurBaby is 12.

If you could be anything else, what would it be?

If I could choose to be anything else other than a nurse and a practitioner, I would choose to be a trauma surgeon.

Do you have hobbies or a way you would like to spend your time away from work?

I enjoy spending time with my grandbabies. I also enjoy cooking, gardening, and short getaways to California and Vegas.

Do you have a favorite book, movie or TV show?

My favorite movies include, Titanic Notebook Silence of the Lambs.
