Women's Health

What do you enjoy or find most fulfilling about caring for patients?

The most fulling part of my job is when I get feedback from patients that I have helped them with their medical and emotional concerns. I love being able to assist women through the various stages of life from menarche to menopause. I especially enjoy being a part of promoting healthy a pregnancy and the various joys and trials that come with that. There is nothing more rewarding than helping a parent bring their new baby into the world.

What attracted you to a community health center for your practice?

I started working at another community health center after finishing my degree and loved it. I feel like I am making a difference in the lives of my patients. There is a need for sensitivity and caring in the OB/GYN field and I strive to fill that need, I strive to provide excellent patient care in the community and help each person feel valued.

If you could be anything else, what would you want to be?

The other job that is most important to me is being a mother and grandmother. Any parent knows that this is the hardest job with the least amount of recognition but most important. Families are forever and I do not take my family for granted.

Do you have children? If so, what are their ages?

I have 7 children, 5 biologic and 2 adopted through foster care. My children’s ages from oldest to youngest are: 32, 30, 28, 26, 23, 19 and 17.

Do you have hobbies or a way you like to spend your time away from work?

My favorite outside of work activities includes gardening, hiking and reading. During the summer I enjoy swimming.

Do you have a favorite book, movie, or TV show?

I enjoy audiobooks with all kinds of genres. You will always find me listening to a book on my spare time.
