Family Medicine

Why did you become a healthcare provider?

I am fascinated by the way things work, the human body is an amazing work of art and mechanics that I am continuously in awe of. Even more intriguing are the unique personalities that inhabit these physical bodies. I love connecting with people on a deeper level, I love hearing their struggles and hopes and dreams. For me, medicine was the perfect marriage of all the things that fascinate me.

What attracted you to a community health center for your practice?

The people…so often I find people in community health centers that are “down on their luck” or so defeated by life and feel marginalized by society. In these settings it is incredibly fulfilling to offer hope on the horizon. A truly comprehensive, primary care, community health center is poised to accomplish this monumental task of delivering hope to the hopeless.

What do you enjoy or find most fulfilling about caring for patients?

I thoroughly enjoy learning about the unique history that shapes every aspect of my patient’s health. My greatest joy in medicine is helping patients carve out and achieve goals that will help them see their intrinsic worth as member of the human family and ultimately start to reach for a potential that they previously thought unattainable.

Do you have children? If so, what are their ages?

4 children; 15-year-old track star, 6-year-old twins who are eternally competing with each other and a 3-year-old who truly rules the roust.

Do you have hobbies or a way you like to spend your time away from work?

Basically, just an unpaid Activities director and Uber driver for my kids…but we are living it up!

Do you have a favorite book, movie or TV show?

Movies: “What Dreams May Come” and “The Other Guys” Book: “To Kill a Mockingbird”
