Tracking your child’s care
Did you know a well-child exam is an essential part of growing up strong and healthy?
Regular check ups aren’t just for when your child is sick, but includes preventative measures and monitoring to make sure they’re at their best–and stay that way!
They involve bringing up any worries or concerns you may have about the growth and development of your child, as well as making sure they are reaching the correct milestones.
What’s involved?
Depending on a child’s specific conditions, they may need more frequent and comprehensive visits. No matter, exams allow a physician to track and document important aspects, including but not limited to:
- Social and physical development
- Nutritional status
- Any chronic medical issues or previous injuries
- Immunization and hearing/vision screenings
As recommended by The American Academy of Pediatrics, it’s recommended that your child is seen at least nine times during their first three years of life. And though it can feel like there’s always another doctor’s visit just around the corner, it’s important to make sure your child gets the adequate care they need.
As part of Adelanto’s Good2Go promotion during the month of July, kids can receive a free backpack and school supplies when their sports physical is upgraded to a well-child exam. It’s just another way of giving back to those families that are invested in their child’s healthcare. Because at Adelante, there’s no such thing as “too much” when it comes to taking care of your health!
