October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and we’re sharing the powerful story of our very own Dr. Sherene Allen Lawson, a Family Nurse Practitioner with over 35 years of experience and our Regional Medical Director, who was diagnosed with breast cancer in June 2023. During a visit with her grandchildren, she felt an unusual sensation in her right breast, prompting her to schedule a mammogram. Dr. Lawson’s journey from diagnosis to treatment was full of challenges, but with the support of her team at Adelante Healthcare, she began chemotherapy just weeks after her diagnosis.
