The Arizona Health Care Cost Containment System, commonly called AHCCCS, is Arizona’s Medicaid program. It provides healthcare coverage to Arizona residents who meet income and other eligibility requirements.

AHCCCS Changes Are Coming
A new federal law, H.R. 1, will introduce several changes to Medicaid and AHCCCS between 2025 and 2032.
Beginning in 2027, some AHCCCS members may be required to:
- Participate in work, school, volunteering or another qualifying activity
- Report qualifying activities
- Renew their AHCCCS coverage every six months
Not every AHCCCS member will be affected. Adelante is developing clear information and resources to help Arizona families understand the changes and prepare.
