Cesar Chavez, born to a farmworker family in Yuma, was known as a champion for human rights and social justice. He fought tirelessly for the rights of farmworkers to improve their social and economic conditions. His work helped pave the way for Adelante and our efforts with the farm worker community.
In the late 1970s, many farmworkers needed better conditions and more means of transportation. They had only a few choices other than traveling 50 miles to the nearest county hospital. Adelante grew from within the fields around El Mirage to fill this void for many.
While our patient base has expanded significantly, Adelante still recognizes our humble beginnings.
