Telehealth, Behavioral Health

Why did you become a healthcare provider?

As a young child, my grandmother permanently lived in my home from ages 4 to 18. She had multiple sclerosis, was in a wheelchair, and required a lot of assistance. Day after day, I was involved with her care and observed home health and hospice nurses and doctors visiting the home to care for her. This was my first exposure to medicine. It had a profound influence on who I am personally and professionally.

Do you have hobbies or a way you like to spend your time away from work?

When I have time, I like to play the drums and guitar. I enjoy the outdoors playing frisbee, basketball, kayaking, and hiking.

What do you enjoy or find most fulfilling about caring for patients?

I enjoy connecting with patients, gaining their trust, and learning about their lives on a deeper level. I love having a positive impact on others’ lives.
