Vaccinations save lives

Getting vaccinated against COVID-19 can lower your risk of getting and spreading the virus that causes COVID-19. Vaccines can also help prevent serious illness and death. Preparing for your COVID-19 Vaccine at Adelante

Before you arrive for your appointment

• Review and, if possible, print and fill out the Covid Informed Consent and Screening Checklist. These will also be available at the health center.
• Familiarize yourself with what to expect before, during, and after receiving the vaccine. More information regarding the safety, side effects, and benefits of the vaccine is available from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).

During your appointment

• Wear a mask and maintain social distance whenever possible.
• Provide honest answers to our medical team as they review your specific circumstances.
• Plan on spending 15 to 30 minutes in observation following your vaccine.

After you receive your vaccine

• Register for V-Safe, a text messaging system the CDC use to provide personalized health check-ins after vaccination.
• Note the date and time of your second vaccine appointment before you leave.
