It’s National Health Center Week!

Adelante Healthcare Celebrates Healthy People and Healthy Communities.

When Roberto and Cathy moved their family to Arizona, among their top concerns was finding doctors they liked. Back home they had found an excellent pediatrician at their nearby Community Health Center, and they immediately looked for a similar medical home in their new town for their family’s health needs. Adelante Healthcare welcomed them as new patients and has been the medical home for this family for more than five years.

It’s no surprise they’d had a good experience at a Community Health Center (CHC.) These non-profit facilities are held to strict standards of accountability that result in excellent patient care.

In fact, CHCs perform better on primary care measures than private practice physicians! They offer a comprehensive set of services including family and internal medicine, pediatrics, OB/GYN, WIC and nutrition support, and often behavioral health, dental and vision care.

Many offer the convenience of on-site pharmacies and labs. They excel at providing preventive services and chronic disease management. And because they must have patient-majority governing boards, they are very responsive to the needs of those they serve.

Located in every state in the country, CHCs serve more than 25 million patients including more than 7.5 million children and 2.5 million Medicare patients. CHCs are sited in underserved communities where they offer cost effective health care to low income families in particular.

Their staff, from medical providers to administrative support, share a commitment to delivering the best quality care and experience to patients in their communities. Each site offers Eligibility Specialists who can help patients enroll in Medicaid (AHCCCS), SNAP, TANF, WIC, and Affordable Care Act insurance. Depending on income and family size, uninsured patients may qualify for a sliding fee scale to ensure they can afford to secure health care.

Adelante Healthcare is proud to be part of the national network of Community Health Centers!
